Upcoming Meetings & Events

This group is for people who want to know more about FamilySearch.org, understand how to use its many features, and access the billions of records available for everyone—all for FREE.

This is a forum to learn the software, get questions answered, and improve your efficiency.  There are two parts to each meeting: basic topics using the Legacy Family Tree software, and then demonstrating how to use more advanced features of the program.

Genealogical Resources of the Kansas Historical Society

Presented by Adam Hodge, PhD, Head of Reference, Kansas Historical Society

The state archives at the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka hold a rich trove of resources for those seeking to work on their family history. Doing one’s genealogy can be a daunting task, so this presentation aims to give those wanting to work on their family history in Kansas a grasp of the resources available online, on microfilm, and on hard copy at the state archives.

Connect to your past and drop in for a day of discovery to begin your family research journey. Tour the genealogy area, learn about Library and Society resources, pick up forms and information, and get one-on-help from Society members. Attend sessions on Getting Started in Genealogy and Family Research, Ancestry.com, Military Research and more. Visit genealogy themed group exhibits.
