Our Volunteers
We have numerous positions for JCGS volunteers. Some only work special events when needed, but the ongoing volunteers work 3.5 hours per week in the Memory Lab or assisting patrons in the Genealogy area.

Genealogy Area Volunteers
Genealogy Desk volunteers assist patrons in their family search journey by assisting them with the many resources available at the library, including genealogy websites, books, microfilm and more.
Memory Lab Volunteers
Become a vital part of the Johnson County Genealogy Society Memory Lab by volunteering to help community members preserve their family legacies. You will assist patrons in using professional equipment to digitize photos, slides, and film, ensuring their heritage is protected for future generations. It is a rewarding opportunity to provide a meaningful service and support the preservation of local history.
